The Awards lunch was held at the University of Bolton on Tuesday 28thJune 2022, where contestants, judges, staff from the catering colleges, and guests from the Northern branches of the International Wine & Food Society gathered to celebrate the competition winners. Guests were served a magnificent meal prepared by staff and students from Bolton College.

First Prize went to Jack Hayes from Sheffield, with his dish of Black pudding soda bread with asparagus, BBQ ketchup and crispy scotch egg.


Second Prize went to Caitlin Clarke from Warrington and Vale Royal College, with her dish of Pork fillet with black pudding stuffing, served with braised chicory, boulangere potatoes, rhubarb purée and a red wine sauce.


Third Prize went to Jessica Gordon-Cooper from Sheffield with her dish of Black pudding and cream cheese pasta with sun blushed tomatoes, crumbed pan fried black pudding, toasted pine nuts, wild garlic oil and pea shoots.


A special Judges Commendation went to Sam Dingley from Scarborough TEC for his canapés of Black pudding and goats cheese.
